I’m a rose between three thorns

Assalammualaikum & hello!!!

This is the first post of the year.hehe. And I noticed my last post was on 20/4/2015 so here it is. some sort of Nad’s getaway 🙂

First of all, I’d like to introduce my 2nd son – Sheh Zayn Bin Sheh Md. Ariff. He was born on 23 Nov 2015 at 12.06noon weighing 3.57 kg. And speaking of his name, compared to Adam I took some time to choose a name for him. HONESTLY.haha.

Friends/family who know me, should know that I’m not a fan of longgggg, lengthy names. I had finally made up my mind in the morning of his 7th Day; to name him ZAYN which carries the following meaning:-

Beauty, adornment, grace, excellence.

He’s nearly 1 year old but this is the 1st time I spill out the beans. I thought of few names for him; i.e. ALI, IDRIS, ZAYD & ZAYN.hehehe. and i ended up liking and prefer ZAYN over others. alhamdulillah my husband had given me liberty; ever since Adam was born to pick n choose whatever name I like provided there’s a good meaning behind the names. Thank you husband! and tq for not naming him HAMKA.hehe. But pls don’t associate my son with Zayn Malik though i know he’s handsome. Adam Levine is one handsome man too but me choosing my children’s names has nothing to do with them. AT ALL.

Zayn is going to turn 1 this 23th. Time flies real fast! maybe because I have another toddler to take care of, and be noted that Adam is not an easy toddler to deal with. I love him of course; my 1st born will always be my dear son. still baby in my eyes but I would like to train him to be independent so that he is able take a good care of his younger sibling(s). (s) means I’d still want more children. at least one more 🙂 kiasu or not kiasu, it’s not up to me/you to decide because all of us want the best for our children. I may not be a perfect mother to them, but I’d love to remember Adam and Zayn in my entire life as my perfect boys 🙂

that’s all for today. I’m posting this just in case Zayn looks up for his name later in my blog and what if he finds none?haha. so Zayn, mommy dedicated my few minutes just to write up this post and remember, you are Adam’s little brother and always be our darling Zayn 🙂

I love you Adik! and Adam too! (mmg kena letak bersama-sama if not i feel guilty.haha).

26 months

Assalammualaikum wbt & a very good Monday everyone! I know today isn’t the best day of the week because most of us suffer from Monday blues right now 🙂

Alhamdulillah, Sheh Adam is 26 months today. He’s now a 2yr 2m old toddler and as a mother, I can’t stop tracking his timeline.

By now, my 2 yr old baby is able to:

  • Say his name (this is important!).
  • Point to an object that we name.
  • Recognize the names of familiar people, objects, and body parts.
  • Use short phrases and sentences.
  • Count and say A-Z with guidance (He memorizes them slowly)
  • Follow simple instructions.
  • Repeat words he overhears.
  • Find an object even if we hide it.
  • Sort objects by shape or color.
  • Dance to music he likes.
  • Recognize his face in pictures & recorded vids.
  • Imitate us praying.
  • Feel empathy.

Those are the lists that I can recall. Adam is yet to begin his potty training but he can by now notify us if he had done his job.

He is a rightie, and he favors right hand over another for things like eating or reaching. But like other toddlers, he also tends to use his hands interchangeably.

In terms of art, I see no Pablo Picasso in Adam. not yet.haha. If he doodled, he would either claim that he drew a fish or bird. But I just saw few lines and sometimes the lines went to far and ended up on his hands and even legs :p

Socially, I think Adam is interested in other children. Though Adam is taken care of my MIL, and not surrounded by children his age like in nursery or playschool but if he happened to see/meet other children he seemed excited and happy. There were few times we had to stop him from touching and holding hands with children (strangers) in malls etc.lol

And speaking of appetite, there are times he eats very well and there are times he just asked for milk and nothing else. This is of course worrying me.

Health. alhamdulillah. If he’s feverish he would take at least 2-3 days to recover. We need to monitor his temperature and be patient with his mood swings. He can be very cranky if he’s feverish.

Alhamdulillah. all praises to Allah swt. May Allah bless my son; give him the best health and protect him from any harm. In shaa Allah. and Thank you Allah for this gift.

Assalammualaikum wbt & a very good day everyone.

Alhamdulillah; I’m back to the routine for able to actually write something on this humble ‘barren’ blog.haha 😛

There are many controversial issues raised these days; and recently (other than the 1MDB, Tun M-DSN finger-pointing, GST etc) we’re debating like the National debaters on EPF issue.

epf_account_2Well, you are NOT alone. The Employees’ Provident Fund’s (EPF) proposal to raise the permissible age for withdrawing retirement savings from 55 to 60 is receiving endless thumbs down including the lawmakers. Finally! Finally I have something in common with the lawmakers. Maybe because it involves money; people normally unite when it comes to MONEY. GST for example.

Since its implementation, friends of mine who were always known to be the strongest Govt supporters are now backbiting the Govt. the same goes to the MONEY issue which claimed by Tun M to be used inappropriately by DSN. More people came forward and vowed to cast their votes wisely in the next GE. well, I’m not surprised. This is the POWER of MONEY.

And going back to EPF, I personally think that it is unfair to impose such a rule on people who have been saving up for so long. And in my mother’s and even my situation who work in private sectors, retirement at 55 is still being practiced, so it is unfair to keep us waiting until 60 to get OUR MONEY.

I hope this will remain as a mere PROPOSAL as there is no need to make it into a LAW.

Before public gets angrier from all sorts of nonsense going on these days, I think EPF should just focus on its management. and Ahmad Maslan in particular, should SHUT his mouth.haha :p

-The End-

Monday Blues

Assalammualaikum wbt & happy Monday everyone. It’s been ages since my last post; simply because I couldn’t recall my password.jk Tried to use wordpress app on my phone few months ago but I found it a lil difficult. But now here I am; trying to post something to ensure my blog’s existence. It’s like any other Mondays, full of blues. Missing my little guy😭

Raya 2014

Assalammualaikum wbt and hi everyone!

I almost forgot that this blog exists.jk. I wish I had enough time to spend some few minutes writing about me, me and me.hehe.

It’s already 17th Syawal, but it’s better late than never to wish all of you a Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri 🙂

This is my 3rd Raya as a wife and 2nd Raya as a mother. alhamdulillah. I can’t thank Allah enough.

When mentioning about Raya, it’s my turn to choose my theme color and I chose chilli RED.bahahaha. definitely Merah Mak Ngah this year.haha. I didn’t have ample time to show off my creativity to sew glamorous beads on my baju kurung moden and for that, I self-claimed our theme as LESS IS MORE.hiks. so I just donning whatever pastel shawl (which I bought from my fav Calaqisya); dusty pink to complete my Bold & Pastel look.perasan.hiks

When Raya is mentioned, you can never get away from family potrait and I also love taking picture in our sedondon clothes. I wish I can wear sedondon baju Raya until forever. so Adam, pls be ready. It doesn’t matter how old are you, you HAVE to follow my order.bahaha

Let pictures speak for themselves.
